Pharmasave has over 500 stores across Canada with 250 stores in Ontario. Each Pharmasave store is independently owned and operated by pharmacists. This is unlike “big box”/grocery store pharmacies which are managed by a pharmacist employee. Each Pharmasave owner is a shareholder of the Pharmasave banner (a co-operative). Co-operatives are business organizations owned and operated by a group of individuals for their mutual benefit. This allows us to participate in various programs for our customers while at the same time having the flexibility to opt out of any programs not suited to our store. We are the decision makers for our store with the support of Pharmasave to help us stay competitive in the pharmacy market. Pharmasave is the only co-operative banner in Canada. All other pharmacies are franchises which are owned by public companies. Pharmasave stores strive to be your neighbourhood pharmacy, providing superior customer service by making you a valued client, not a number
Insomnia is a symptom and is not a medical condition in itself. Rather, it’s your body’s way of telling you that something is not right.
There are different types of insomnia. Some people have trouble falling asleep while others have trouble staying asleep or waking up too early.
Insomnia is only a considered a problem if it interferes with your life.
As we age our sleep is shorter and less deep.
Causes of insomnia include nicotine, caffeine, alcohol, medications, stress, anxiety, depression, pain, air travel, shift work, sleep apnea, poor sleep habits, certain medical conditions and not being active enough during the day.
Over-the-counter medications are available to help with insomnia, these should only be used short-term and in conjunction with sleep hygiene modifications. Prescription medications are also available if needed after being assessed by a physician. Come in to speak with us today about ways to help you sleep well.
